Fishing the Weedbeds

I went for a trip a few weekends ago to the well known Townsville Weedbeds with my mate from the BCFC. The forecast was 25-30 knots yet we were still keen (or maybe stupid!) so we thought to stay in close. The wind was SE so we were a little protected from the Cape. We found a good spot of clean water in about 12ft then got the burley going hot. We both set our rods with floating pillies and special hook techniques and after about 10 mins it was all on! The doggies were hot, but unfortunately the Remora were even hotter. After about 2 hours of this we then trolled for a while with no luck. We had a great time regardless of being blown about, and were back home well in time for lunch and to share the adventures rewards with the kids.

If you are looking for an incredible holiday vacation, then a fly fishing trip is the perfect answer. It is both educational and adventurous. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced angler, you will have a fabulous experience if the trip is well planned.
